One of the guys that works at the track with me works for ProCharger. While at a racers meeting last night, he told me has installed 2 of them already in the trucks. Apparently there's 2 injectors in the TB in there system. The Unichip does not alter anything with the factory ECM. It just gets it's information from it, and as boost rises, it gives the additional fuel necessary for the A/F ratio.

He told me to give him a call, and he'll introduce me to the new guy in charge of the HEMI projects and show me around the facility. Mark apparently does not work there anymore.

With Mark gone that would explain why we haven't heard from Procharger on any of the forums. Their injector setup sounds just like the GSM set up I have in storage as sone as I get a break from work I'm putting it onAnxious thats for keeping us updated on the Procharger.

No problem. Again, soon as the weather gets nice enough, I'll be takin' a trip down there and looking at the HEMI aspect of the facility, and take the truck for a spin.

For those that have not heard, Vortech is releasing a new Hemi kit to beat all.

Procharger kit was good but had some issues. They use the Unichip piggy back programmer and had the right concept to keep the hemi lower end together but now there is better with the Vortech.

For the guys that got mixed up with GSM, be careful. That was a piece meal blower kit utilizing no real engineering or R&D. The concept was taken off the older blower systems using supplemental injectors in the airhat. Not the correct way to feed additional fuel into these engines and many have found that out the hard way while never getting as much as a call back from GSM. GSM is now being sued. It's now out there in the Hemi forums so nothing really new there other than everyone is finally believing it.

Give me an email if you want some group buy info on the Vortech Kits. Glad to help.

What exactly was wrong with the Procharger kit? What's gonna make the Vortech better? Unless they have their own specific tuner, that's the only thing that inhibits these trucks: the lack of a good tuner, i.e. a Diablo, or SCT, or anything for that matter.

You can't push anymore psi than what Procharger had, otherwise you jeopardise the motor itself, so again... what's gonna make the Vortech so much better?

I think once the Diablo will be out for the Rams this Procharger kit will be the way to go. They already have it tuned for the LX's with this set up.

I have been running the Procharger 6lb kit for the last 2 months. Im using there unichip and 2 69lb an hour aux injectors. Power is good, but the interaction with MDS is not so good. When crusing and MDS engauges the manifold pressure drops alot. It almost goes to 0. The unichips MAP sometimes will add fuel when not in boost. Its not alot around 12.5-13.9 AFR. This does not bother me, what does is the PCM is still in closedloop mode. While the unichip is supplying fuel, the stock o2's are telling the PCM to subtract fuel.....see in closedloop modes the 02's will fight to hit 14.7 AFR. I dont see this being a problem unless the LT fuel trims are altered alot.

If they wanted to do it right with the unichip they would have sent a false load signal depending upon ETC value. This would have simulated a heavy load on the PCM. Fuel trims raise, MDS kicks off, and timing would run off a lower table.

I have seen up to 3 degrees of knock retard under normal driving, not boost. I changed the spark plugs to a cooler range plug and that disapeared.

I have been waiting for Diablosport to come out. I have read alot on it. They are close, real close to having a reliable product. When this reveals a release date, who knows, but when it does......8 50lb injectors, 2-bar MAP, MDS delete, Slight reduction in timing, and a good CMR tune should take care off all the small issues.

I have not heard any detonation. That would kill this bottom end, but the hemi 5.7's major downfall for boost strength is its pistons. The top ring to top deck clearence is very small. This metal lip will break above 6lbs of boost.

Im gonna buy another motor used and learn how to build it up with forged guts and a slightly lower compression (8.5-8.7). I will do this while I drive my stocker around. If I blow it up, I will just swap out the blocks. It should be able to handle abuse at 9lbs. I only ever plan on running 5-6lbs. Anything after that and the trans will die.

If you boost, watch oil change content, listen for detonation, log AFR, Log knock retard, and watch fluid temps with a scan gauge. Most scan gauges pick up stock temp sendors and you will not have to buy additional gauges.

Just talked to Procharger this week. Don't think they even knew Diablo had released the Predator for the Rams yet. At least not the guys I know up there. I did the honors. Gonna be talking to them next week more about it, and maybe even a production kit for the '03's now. :d/
