Put a Late Model 5.7 or 6.1 liter HEMI in Your Early Model Muscle Car.
Now vintage muscle-car enthusiasts and hot rodders can put a late model 5.7 or 6.1 liter HEMI engine in their early-model muscle car, for example a Hemi 'Cuda.
The ChipKillr™ Hemi engine tuning kit is a complete solution for restoring “tune-ability” to Dodge model HEMI engines. This is accomplished by exchanging the stock timing cover with a precision replacement unit designed to house a distributor, eliminating the need for computerized ignition controls.
“It's exactly like having a classic Hemi,” says Joey Arrington, “it's perfect for your vintage muscle car, hot rod or any application which requires you to kill a computer!”
The kit includes an exclusive Arrington-engineered replacement timing cover with a distributor mounting, a timing set with both gears, chain and tensioner a Crane LX E-Core Ignition Box and Coil, a Crane Pro-Race Distributor, and a set of 25 ohm , 8 mm, Crane Firewire spark plug wires. The installation time should be less than a half-day for an owner who has a Hemi already installed in their muscle car or hot rod.
The ChipKillr kit is the first collaborative venture under what Arrington and Crane call a “power partnership,” which they have formed for the purpose of developing unique products for the performance automotive aftermarket.
“We are excited about the opportunity to work with a talented organization like Arrington,” says Lance Harris, Crane Cams CEO. “We expect the ChipKillr kit to be just the first in a long line of speed products for the performance aftermarket.”
The ChipKillr kit was previewed at the Performance Racing Industry show in Orlando, December 6 - 8, 2007, and received a tremendous response from informed insiders. The kit will be priced competitively, and is expected to be ready for shipment during first quarter, 2008.
